The Challenge
Foothills was in need of a new website, to clearly define their mission, shelter services, and pets both up for adoption as well as lost and found in the community. The prominent functionality for searching current adoptable animals on their site was an important feature.
hThe Solution
Working with Foothills in a longterm partnership, we created a custom WordPress development with custom landing pages and detail pages for each animal. As a completely responsive solution, we achieved a successful pet adoption strategy with a third party API integration. The third party API, Shelter Buddy, is a hooked up XML feed that updates from the database with live adoptable animals every hour, ensuring these pets can find their future owner.

Helping Denver Pets Find A Home
Helping Foothills Animal Shelter achieve their mission of providing the best care possible for every animal that enters their doors meant being able to set up an interactive, user-friendly website that helps pets in the area find loving homes.
Creating a Result-Driven Campaign
Building on the existing framework and website, FIREANT launched an interactive campaign (“Find Your Soulmate”) for Foothills aimed at getting pets adopted, as part of the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. Their goal was met, and Foothills ended up as a top five challenge winner!
In the first full week of having this integration up and running, 130 pets were adopted (compared to 99 the same week last year)! Simply put, the new website functionality is helping more homeless pets find loving homes. Real-time available pet listings, filter and sort options, and responsive design ultimately makes for happy patrons and successful adoption matches. Applied Technologies
Shelterbuddy is a industry standard tool that allows shelters to more easily manage their data in a system that was specifically developed and designed for and by shelters. Utilizing their API we were able to create an hourly sync that pulls in new animals and photos into their custom wordpress site. This allows Foothills to not only manage their data in only one place, but also reduces the costs of custom development, as shelter buddy provides a content model and managment system that is ideal for shelters to keep track of their inventory. As well shelterbuddy also has integrations with popular online adoption sites, allowing Foothills to maximize the exposure each animal can get with the least investment of time.
