How to Start Preparing Your Website
If your organization is not sure where to begin, start with a sequenced roadmap that addresses visibility, technical health, content clarity, and conversion measurement.
Audit current organic visibility and AI citation presence. Review Search Console, landing pages, branded queries, and priority topics.
Review technical foundations. Crawl the site, check indexing, redirects, canonical tags, schema errors, Core Web Vitals, accessibility issues, and broken links.
Map key entities. Define services, programs, audiences, locations, expertise areas, resources, and relationships between topics.
Restructure priority pages around clear answers and decision support. Add definitions, steps, comparison points, FAQs, and next actions.
Implement schema at the template level. Prioritize Organization, WebPage, Article or BlogPosting, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Service, and other relevant types.
Improve accessibility, semantic HTML, and content hierarchy. Fix headings, labels, link text, forms, tables, landmarks, and alt text at the code and content levels.
Track conversions, not just rankings. Configure GA4 events and dashboards for form submissions, applications, resource downloads, calls, email clicks, and other meaningful actions.
